How much Omega-3 do people need per day?

We take a large interest in our health, but our health challenges are increasing. It is time to ask why! 🤔 Science suggests one reason is the dramatic change in the ratio of the essential fatty acids Omega-6 and Omega-3 in our modern diet. We are dramatically out of balance.⠀

Why is it important to be in balance?

Balance refers to the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids. Both omega-6 and omega-3 are essential to vital functions in our bodies. The problem is the imbalance created by changes in our diet. Too much omega-6 creates imbalance. Too little omega-3, specifically bio-available EPA and DHA, creates imbalance.

Before 1960, the ratio of omega 6:3 in the western world was 4:1 or less. Leading health authorities (including the Norwegian Ministry of Health) recommends a ratio of 5:1 or less to be in balance. In the past 50 years the food industry has created a diet with an elevated ratio today in Europe, the average – 15:1, and often 25:1 or greater in the US. Even those taking omega-3 supplements are not in balance, showing ratios of 20:1 and 7:1 in the USA and Europe, respectively. In fact, most health-conscious people are discovering that they are out of balance.

So it is important to balance your diet rich with Omega-3, but where can I find foods that are rich in omega3?

Omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) are mainly found in oily fish such as sardines, mackerel, anchovies, and salmon. There are also plant sources of omega-3, such as alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is found in some vegetable oils.

Our bodies can make EPA and DHA from ALA, but the process is very limited. In fact, it is almost impossible to achieve the recommended balance by being on a vegetarian diet. The easiest way to achieve high EPA and DHA levels is by using high-quality fish oils.

How much omega-3 do I need? 🤔

The recommended daily intake of EPA and DHA can vary among health organizations and countries (examples below). Since a typical diet, today consists of so much more omega-6 than omega-3, we actually need a higher intake of omega-3 than stated below to achieve the recommended balance. ⠀ ⠀
– EFSA (European Food Safety Authority); 250 mg EPA+DHA/day ⠀
– American Heart Association; Two servings of fatty fish per week ⠀
– ISSFAL (International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids); Minimum 500 mg EPA+DHA/day ⠀
– WHO (World Health Organization); 200-500 mg EPA+DHA/day ⠀ ⠀

Are you sure you have enough Omega-3? Do you know that with a simple test you can measure the status of your Omega-6 and Omega-3 fatty acid intake?

My story

Long 15 years was fighting with high blood pressure using different drugs to stabilize it, today when improved my balance I do not need any drugs.

Stabile blood pressure and psoriases were my main targets but were not expecting other improvements. High energy levels, increased mental clarity, better quality sleep, no more regular headaches are just a few of the improvements I’ve personally experienced using the Balance Oil daily. ⠀

Still, there is a way to improve, but now I have the test results to prove it and to follow my progress.

My initial test – I had little to no Omega 3 in my body despite using a well-known companies fish oil product time to time… I was living in a state of constant inflammation and wasting a lot of money on a product that did NOTHING.

My bodies ability to protect itself from inflammation with essential fatty acids was literally ZERO. ⁣⠀
⁣⠀
I certainly have a place to improve my diet also with a lot of office time could live a bit more active lifestyle, but still was surprised what my initial test revealed. I was obviously heading down the path of danger towards chronic disease.

My second test a year later after taking BalanceOil daily has shown me that my protection level is now 66% up from 9%, my omega 6:3 balance has improved from 8.1:1 to 2.3:1 that is in the range where world health organizations and health scientists advise to be and I will continue to see improvements in all my indicators.

What is BalanceTest?

The Zinzino balance test is a dry blood sample test to use at home. It takes less than a minute to perform. A little prick in your finger by the enclosed needle and collecting a few drops of blood on a filter paper in the test kit is all it takes. The blood sample is sent to a certified laboratory for analysis. The test analyzes 11 fatty acids in your blood with 98 % accuracy. This data determines your omega 6:3 ratio. In addition, the test gives you your fatty acid profile with information on how to increase your health awareness. You may access your personal test results anonymously at: www.ZinzinoTest.com. The results will tell you whether your diet is balanced, semi-balanced or unbalanced.

Before you know the results of your current diet, it is difficult to know exactly what your body lacks. In leadership, they teach that you first have to identify the problem to find the best solution, which mirrors our philosophy.
